We were surprised to learn that Express Scripts terminated our multi-year agreement to participate as a Tricare network pharmacy provider just after Walmart and Express Scripts signed an agreement on September 30 that will see Walmart serve these members for years is ahead of us. We value our Tricare and DOD customers and are disappointed by Express Script's decision and have asked them for more information to understand their decision. We have asked Express Scripts to honor the agreement we both signed. We know that many members of the military, veterans and their families rely on Walmart for convenient, low-cost prescriptions, and this decision limits their options. We hope to reach a decision to continue as a Tricare network pharmacy provider. Walmart will continue to offer everyday low prices on generic drugs that all customers with or without insurance can use. Luke Kleyn, director of payer relations at Walmart

(NEXSTAR) -- Walmart has removed a pair of shoes from its online marketplace after it was found to be in violation of the company's "prohibited products policy," according to the retailer.

The boots, offered by a third-party seller on the company's Walmart marketplace, were emblazoned with the letters "KKK" on the tongue of each shoe.

It is unclear why the letters - commonly associated with the Ku Klux Klan - were printed on the $50 boots. The third-party seller appeared to be a company called "Harsuny," and the footwear was listed only as "Men's Tactical Military Hiking Boots Outdoor Hiking Boots," according to a screenshot of the product catalog shared by the Council. American-Islamic. Relations (CAIR), reportedly brought the matter to Walmart's attention on Saturday.

Walmart Goes Small To Grow Grocery Sales

Walmart confirmed to Nexstar that the product was removed from its market over the weekend. The shoes were never put up for sale in the store, the representative said.

"This product was sold by an outside vendor and was removed because the product is inconsistent with our values and violates Walmart's prohibited products policies," a Walmart spokesperson said in a statement shared with Nexstar. “Like other major retailers, we have an online marketplace that allows third-party sellers to offer products to customers through our online shopping platform. We have a process in place designed to prevent third party sellers from offering inappropriate products on our platform. Still, sometimes inappropriate items disrupt the scene.

"We are assessing how this happened and are using what we have learned to further improve our rules and processes to prevent the sale of inappropriate products."

Getting The Covid Vaccine At Walmart

A Walmart representative confirmed that the company was in contact with a third-party seller about the product "to understand how this happened," but could not divulge further details. As of Wednesday, at least some other Harsuny products were still available on Walmart's online platform, although many had been removed.

This isn't the first time a product from a third-party Walmart seller has caught fire. In recent years, the retail giant has removed T-shirts that mocked lynching reporters, according to the Associated Press, as well as a graphic T-shirt that read "I'd Rather Be Snorting Cocaine Off a Hooker's - ,” Mashable reported. The company once removed an online ad from a third-party seller on a mug that read "Got Milk?" campaign slogan, although "milk" has been replaced with an insult aimed at people with disabilities, Grub Street reports.

Just this year, a children's toy sold through Walmart's online marketplace was pulled by a third-party seller after videos of a "story" toy phone went viral. As TODAY reported, among the "jokes" users could play were references to Catholic priests and sexual abuse. The company immediately pulled the toy.
