Military Cdc Rates - Robins CDC, in collaboration with the Bright from the Start Department of Early Care and Learning, offers a kindergarten readiness program. Children who will be four years old by September 1 can participate in the program. Pre-K is offered to current students on a first-come, first-served basis and operates in partnership with the Houston County Board of Education (HCBOE). Pre-K Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

For military parents, finding and paying for childcare is one of the most frustrating parts of moving to a new location. And if you don't meet the high priority category, you may not get a place at the Child Development Center (CDC), which will require you to seek civilian care. Fortunately, the Department of Defense has made it easy to pay for alternative insurance by offering military childcare assistance programs.
Navy Child Care Waitlist For On Base Services Is 9,000 Kids Long
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many childcare options offered by the military are limited. However, the military's child care system has been strained for years, with thousands waiting for too few childcare spots. To address this care gap, lawmakers proposed improvements to the program that would take effect on September 1, 2020 (delayed from June 1). The changes will give higher priority to Coast Guard families, and centers will be able to exclude a student if someone with a higher priority needs emergency housing.
For those unable to take advantage of on-installation childcare, military childcare assistance programs are ready to help. Child care subsidies help keep CDC rates low for families. However, because installation facilities are limited and expensive to operate, these subsidies are also available to families receiving appropriate civilian services. In the past, document flow went through the service department and was difficult to manage. This online service is provided by Child Care Aware® of America (CCAoA). Once alternative care is secured and care reimbursement is approved, CCAoA pays the provider directly.
Subsidies are based on local childcare costs and vary depending on the service member's rank and spouse's employment status. According to the CCAoA, “payment of compensation is determined by calculating the difference between the community child care facility's monthly payment, which may not exceed the program provider's predetermined limit for family location and type of care, and the DoD parent's compensation for similar child care services, depending location and income category".
The Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps have the same coverage and provider price caps of up to $1,100 per month and up to $1,300 in high-cost areas.

The military does things differently and covers up to $1,500 a month. Parents will be responsible for paying the installation costs of their unit and anything above the service provider's price limit.
So, for example, if a dual-income Navy family earning $90,000 per year (Category IV) in a high-cost area pays the following:
Active duty members of the Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps are eligible to apply for military child care assistance programs. Coast Guard families will apply through the Navy program (link below). But it is important to note that not all service providers are covered. Civil Aid must be accredited and each branch has different accreditation criteria. You can search for accredited suppliers using the following tool.
While the Air Force, Navy, and Marine Corps programs offer both full-time and part-time programs, the Military Child Care Assistance Program does not have a part-time option. Preschool children must be involved in at least 16 hours of care per week. School-aged children must be enrolled in at least six hours of care per week during the school year and at least 16 hours of care per week during the summer holidays.

It is also important to note that this program is not a vesting program and is therefore dependent on receipt of annual appropriations. When funds run out, certain services often end up on a waiting list.
